Sustainability
Our Wonder and Gratitude for Life makes sustainability a key focus in the bask ethos.
We are committed to sourcing the most ethical and environmentally-friendly options for our product development, from the fabrics we use to the packaging we ship in. Our goal is to minimize our environmental impact and create a brand that promotes sustainability in all aspects of our business. We are dedicated to using only eco-certified fabrics, and we work with factories that have WRAP accreditation to ensure safe, lawful, humane, and ethical manufacturing practices. Join us in our mission to make sustainability a key focus in everything we do.
Eco Recycled Xtra Life Lycra
Eco Recycled Xtra Life Lycra is a 100% regenerated nylon and polyester fiber made from post-consumer materials. Xtra Life Lycra resists fabric breakdown more than 5 times longer than your average chlorine-resistant spandex.
Eco - Tex Standard 100
Eco - Tex Standard 100 - is one of the world’s best-known labels for textile raw materials, intermediate and end products (at all stages of production) tested for harmful substances. It stands for customer confidence and high product safety. Safe for workers and the planet - manufactured in a sustainable and socially responsible way OEKO-TEX® product labels help consumers identify products that have been rigorously tested against a list of up to 350 toxic chemicals.
Sun Protection UPF 50+
Sun Protection UPF 50+ Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) indicates how much UV radiation (both UVB and UVA) a fabric allows to reach your skin. For example, a UPF 50 fabric blocks 98 percent of the sun’s rays and allows two percent (1/50th) to penetrate, thus reducing your exposure risk significantly.
WRAP
WRAP Certified Ethical Production Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production, is an independent, objective, non-profit team of global social compliance experts dedicated to promoting safe, lawful, humane, and ethical manufacturing all over the world by certification. It certifies factories according to twelve “Worldwide Responsible Apparel Production Principles”. WRAP certification is recognized around the world as proof of social compliance in the apparel industry. We only certify individual production units, allowing our auditors to get an “on the ground” perspective of each facility’s operations to ensure that they are maintaining compliant practices. All certifications require periodic renewal depending on the level, and all certified facilities are subject to unannounced follow-up visits during their certification periods.
Packaging & Shipping
Every effort has been made to ensure bask products and shipping packaging as eco-sustainable as possible. Paper and card are FSC-certified. For shipping packets we use Recycled Bio Bags which have D2W technology.
d2w® technology turns ordinary plastic at the end of its useful life, in the presence of oxygen, into a material with a different molecular structure. At the end of the process, it is no longer a plastic, and has changed into a material which is biodegradable (by bacteria and fungi) in the open environment.
